Ficus elastica ‘Melany’

The old-school Rubber Plant is making a comeback with its cool broad glossy leaves on strong stems. 'Melany' is a slimmer-leafed type with a red tinge on its leaves. Some call these plants 'Fig Trees' because they grow fig-like fruits in their natural habitat. The Ficus elastica, also known as the "Rubber Plant," got its name from the latex sap that used to be used for making rubber.
